CITB Practice Test

Fact-Checking and Corrections

We publish safety-adjacent content that people rely on before spending money and sitting an exam. That makes being correctable more important than looking authoritative.

This site publishes as a brand rather than under personal bylines, which puts the weight on work you can check. See about this site for who we are and what we do not claim.

If something on this site is wrong, please tell us at [email protected]. This page explains what we do with that.

1. How to report an error

Send us the page address, what you believe is wrong, and if you have it, the official source that shows the correct position. You do not need to be certain or to be polite about it. A short message saying a page looks wrong is enough for us to check.

  • A wrong answer or explanation in a practice question.
  • An out-of-date fee, validity period or scheme rule.
  • A broken link, a wrong phone number or a dead official reference.
  • Anything that reads as though we are claiming to be CITB or CSCS.

2. What we do when we receive a report

  • We acknowledge reports within five working days.
  • We check the claim against the primary source, which means CITB or CSCS rather than another revision site.
  • If you are right, we fix the page, update its verification date and reply to tell you it is done.
  • If we cannot verify either position, we say so on the page rather than picking the answer that sounds better.

3. How quickly we act

3.1 Urgent

An incorrect answer on a safety question, or a factual error that could cause someone to book the wrong test or waste a fee. We aim to correct or temporarily remove within one working day of verifying it.

3.2 Standard

Out-of-date figures, unclear wording, broken links. Corrected in the normal review cycle, usually within ten working days.

4. How corrections are recorded

Substantive corrections are noted on the page they affect, with the date, so you can see that something changed and when.

We do not silently rewrite a page that gave materially wrong guidance. Quiet edits are how a site keeps its reputation while its readers keep the consequences.

Minor fixes such as typographical errors and broken links are made without a note.

5. Independence of corrections

Corrections are made on the evidence. No advertiser, affiliate partner or training provider can have accurate information removed, and none of them can have a correction suppressed because it is commercially inconvenient.

6. If you disagree with our decision

If we decline a correction and you think we are wrong, reply and say so, or escalate to [email protected]. We will look again. We would rather have the argument than leave a bad answer in the bank.
